Cleaning Stamped Concrete

Cleaning a Stamped Concrete Pool Patio

Cleaning Exposed Concrete

Cleaning stamped concrete must be completed from day one to ensure a good sealer bond to the concrete, protecting the surface and color integrity.

After installation and the initial sealing, a stamped concrete surface should be sealed every two to three years. If so, the surface and color integrity becomes compromised due to improper maintenance frequency.

The stamped concrete surface must be cleaned properly.  We utilize eco-friendly products with the cleaning process.

Beware! Professional pressure washing contractors often use products that ruin the surface and residue prevents a good sealer bond. Pressure wands should not be placed on the stamped concrete surface as they will etch the surface and will become highlighted when a quality sealer is applied. Check out our Photo Gallery.

Cleaning Exposed Concrete

Cleaning Exposed Concrete

Cleaning Exposed aggregate can be tricky resulting in dirt being left behind between the stones. This prevents the sealer from bonding which leaves the areas a non-bond. this will allow water to absorb in between the stones and the concrete, which can result in the "stone popping." We see this often when we visit new customers. Stones referred to as aggregate end up in the pool, on the lawn, and sticking to people's feet, which can hurt and become truly annoying.

photo of cleaning and degreasing is very important before sealing stamped to avoid major issues

Properly cleaning a stamped concrete surface is crucial to avoid aesthetic issues that will appear after the sealing process is completed. Mold growth which gets discolored and looks dirty. Once this happens it can only be addressed years later when the sealer is completely burnt off the stamped concrete surface. Check out our photo gallery.

Who Should I avoid Using to Seal my Stamped or Exposed Aggregate Concrete

Cleaning a Stamped Concrete Pool Patio

Stamped Concrete Driveways are truly an "eye-catcher." The problem is that most stamped concrete driveways look terrible after the second time sealing.

The sealing application process requires an experienced applicator, with quality stamped concrete sealer. This is only after it gets cleaned properly and treated if applicable.

Don't let anyone do this to your stamped concrete investment. See FAQS

Sealing Stamped Concrete

Who Should I avoid Using to Seal my Stamped or Exposed Aggregate Concrete

Who Should I avoid Using to Seal my Stamped or Exposed Aggregate Concrete

Most projects we look at are problematic which requires us to recommend the customer wait until the cheap or wrong type of sealer burns off, not just lose its shine. The other reason and common problem for residential homeowners is the inexperienced applicator taking on your sealer job for "beer drinking money." Cheap sealer or the wrong type of sealer with inexperienced applicator results in too much sealer and you have serious aesthetic issues to live with for years. there is no real fix. You get what you pay for!

Avoid these folks!

  •  If you clean it before I get there it will save you substantially!
  • You should seal your concrete every year!
  •    I used a good sealer, it costs over $200 a pail. Most sealers turn your stamped concrete yellow.
  • Cheap sealers (plastics& fillers?)
  • there is no need to wash it, I blow it off and seal it. It will be fine. I do hundreds each year. These are the projects we see every year that we can't take on because they are beyond repair. Customers have to wait years. every year they contact us for us to go by and see if we can do it. NOT! It takes years for cheap sealers to burn off. See Concrete sealer Removal.

  • That's why we love these beer-drinking money - sealer applicators. Not!
